Crystal L. Paul is a freelance journalist and editor, based in south side Chicago. She reports on a wide range of topics, including arts & culture, education, communities, and race & equity. She has a degree in behavioral neuroscience from Yale University and previously served as the founding communities reporter for The Seattle Times, an assistant editor at Beacon Press, a bookseller, and even once as an organic farmer.
